MMH MondayLast week I decided that I needed a little computer and sewing time off. So I did not blog or do much of anything as respects the website all last week. The stress of daily life was setting in again and I was trying to find ways around it affecting me any further than it already has. Really the only thing that I did was some hand embroidery because I do find that relaxing. So to distract myself, I treated myself and bought myself a new sewing machine! It was delivered to my office last Friday. I thought it would make me want to sew again. I was so very excited to dig in....until I got it home... and then I just had difficulty facing it. So it sat in the box all weekend. I had other things on my mind any way. I knew that I had to be in a certain sort of mood to deal with the new learning curve of a new fancy machine!

Saturday night was my 30th high school reunion in Hollywood. It was awesome to share an evening with people I had not seen in 30 years. I was surprised how many people I recognized and how many recognized me. I was also surprised at how easy it was to pick up where we left off, have a conversation or two or three or four..... and party just like we did then! We put on our dancing shoes and danced to the music of 1980. It is hard to believe that it was 30 years ago. OK, maybe that is not entirely true! I remember some high school dances where we held up the walls... but I was bound and determined to get out there and have fun this time. I put on my dancing shoes and danced with my friend Richard and had a blast! Thanks, Richard! You and the reunion committee put on one great party! And what a fabulous turn out! I expected 50 to 75 people.... and we ended up with about 225! Success!

Today in honor of my great friends of today and yesteryear, I am thankful for friendship. I treasure it! I am thankful for how friendship  transcends time. No matter how much time we spend apart, we always have a special bond when we reconnect! I am not sure where that comes from, but the bond runs deep and it is fascinating to me.

I urge each and every one of you out there in blogland to catch up with at least one old friend this week. Call up and say "I miss you" and get together with that old friend! You will be happy that you did!

Take care and happy stitching!
