sewandtellfridaysTGIF! Happy Friday everyone! I am back after a two week break from blogland! My last post was a Sew and Tell post on October 1st. After that I was busy preparing for my trip to Las Vegas for my daughter's wedding. I had tons of stuff to do.... so there was not a lot of sewing going on! I really do not like lengthy interruptions to my crafting mojo, but this one was unavoidable! LOL!

With that in mind, it seems only fitting to post a fabulous photo of the blushing bride on her special day 10/10/10 at 10:00!

I was totally blown away by how beautiful her dress looked on her. I love the mantilla veil.

In her right hand, Diana is holding the garnet rosary that belonged to my grandmother.

I carried it on my wrist when I was married too.

More to follow....... I will post more about the wedding Monday when I do my next "Makes Me Happy Monday" post.

Before I left for the wedding, I had received my new Brother sewing machine. It has been an interesting change in sewing with this new machine. So different from the machine I am used to! In order to practice, I started by making a handful of quilted bookmarks. I upcycle junk mail postcards that I received and scraps from string quilt blocks to make these bookmarks.

I will be posting a tutorial this weekend showing how to make these simply adorable bookmarks. I have already sewn up half a dozen for Christmas presents!

I finished this block for a swap and I already sent it to my swap partner. The free pattern can be found at the Rod Brolly blog. It is part of the Catalicious BOM series.

I ♥ the kitty and the red hearts!

I also made these green and blue fancy pins for my friend, Diane. I traded the pins for some fabric that she had. She really liked the pins and that makes me happy! If you have a chance, take a peek at Diane's blog HERE. She is a creative lady! We met on! And we both love to swap!

The highlight of my week was to have my work featured once again on Jenny of Elefantz's blog. I made the selvage cosmetic bag shown in my October 1st post in response to Jenny's ZIP-ME-UP September challenge. And Jenny featured it in her blog post HERE. Thanks Jenny! I appreciate you sharing my project with all of the readers of your blog. I feel so honored!

That is it for this week's Sew and Tell. I hope that everyone saw something they liked!

I am linking up to the following linky parties. You should check them out when you have a chance! There is an abundance of creativity by some very special ladies! Enjoy!

I will be posting my tutorial soon!

Take care and happy stitching!
