I have continued to make daily progress on my Dear Diary Quilt project. I cannot believe that I have been so self disciplined that I have made a block each and every day since April 1, 2010. Even last night when I went out for boxing and then a girl's night out, I took 20 minutes to make a block before I hit the road.
My life has been crazy and so many unexpected things have occurred lately. Since this has been the theme in my life recently, it has been reflected in my quilt blocks. I have been kind of obsessed with crazy and random quilt blocks. I have just started piecing with scraps in my scrap basket and letting the blocks just happen randomly with no particular plan. It has been very fun and the results are so creative. Here are the recent blocks....
Of all off the blocks I have made in the past couple of weeks, this one is my favorite. I love the cute red fussy cut tiny doggie foot print! Yeah! Sooooooooo adorable! I put a dime on the block so you can see the scale of the little footprint.
This block is shaped like a fan. Just made with random fabrics and accented with embroidering running stitch!
This block is also totally random... except for the frog in the center. I love his smile and his cute eyes!
Here is another crazy block with a tiny fussy cut little flower. This flower in about 3/8" square. Love it as a focal point!
Here is another fussy cut gem. A cute little red rose! This flower is less and 1/2" wide. I decided to embroider on the black fabric on this block. Cute flower design to go with all of the other flowers!
Another block made with my favorite skull fabric! I call this block the winking skull! I just love the way the skull was just randomly placed in this block. It was not intentional. It just kinda happened this way! So glad it did! I love it!!!
And here is my turquoise checkerboard block. The turquoise Blocks represent my son's favorite color. And the skull fabric is one of my favorites. So this is a blending of my son and me! We do compliment one another!
I continue to make one block every day. I will post more of my favorites soon. Until my next post, Dare to Dream, Dare to Believe, Dare to Create, and Dare to be Inspired!
Have a great inspirational and creative holiday weekend!
