This quilt pattern is a freebie from the Snickerdoodle Dreams website. If you sign up with your email address, you can get the entire free pattern here. This first block of this quilt was released in honor of National Quilting Day in March 2010. It is a scrappy quilt. The quilter is supposed to choose her favorite color and find fabrics from her stash that contain that specific color. Blocks are to be 5" square when finished.

The inspiration quilt contains blocks with the following inspirations words: happiness, friendship, inspire, create, family, dream, peace, courage, love, hope, believe and faith. This quilt gives these snippets of advice to inspire each and every one of us in our daily lives and in our quest for creativity. All of these values are sooooo important in my life. I have concentrated on them throughout 2010.

I chose lavender and dark purple embroidery floss to embroider my blocks on muslin. I will coordinate with a bunch of light and dark purple fabrics.  Here are the blocks I have completed to date......

Block 1: Happiness

Block 2: Friendship

Block 3: Inspire

This quilt has inspired me to want to design my own quilt. I am working on it now and I will work on some more of these blocks very soon and post them as I complete them.

Do you have a story that has filled your life with creativity or inspiration? Please share it with us when you have a few moments.  We would love to read your comments!

Until my next post with more blocks, dare to share, design, inspire and create!
